We've been doing daily feature photos with a Postcards from Summer theme at the paper for the last few weeks. This is my most recent effort.
Perry High School Senior Grady Saunders wipes sweat from his eyes while jarring a batch of his homegrown and homemade salsa at the Perry High canning plant Wednesday. The canning plant is one of only three left in Middle Georgia where people can bring their homegrown summer vegetables for quick and safe canning and jarring. Saunders sells the salsa he makes at the Saturday farmer's market in Perry to add to the money he makes at his job at the local Red Lobster, all of which he hopes to save for when he leaves for college and to buy more canning supplies.
